The Breed Council acts as a link between the Breed Club’s and the Kennel Club in all matters related to the Scottish Terrier. Any issues raised by a Breed Club can be forwarded to the Breed Council who subsequently contacts all the Breed clubs where the relative discussions take place at the Committee Meetings. The results are then forwarded to the Breed Council and ultimately the Kennel Club.
The AGM is held at National Terrier every year. Each Club are eligible to send two delegates to the AGM. The delegates at the AGM are there to express the views or votes as necessary for their respective Clubs. The AGM is open to all those who are paid up members of any of the Breed Clubs who themselves are fully paid up members of the Breed Council.
During the last few years the introduction of the JCF (Judges Competency Framework) has been devised for the future training of judges. For the purpose of this a position has been raised by the Kennel Club know as the BEC’s ( Breed Education Co-ordinator). Moving forwards this means that the Breed Club’s , Breed Council & BEC’s co-ordinate future activities so that we can be pro-active in maintaining a high standard of judges for the Scottish Terrier. Further details and information on the JCF and the Kennel Club Academy can be foundon the Kennel Club Website.
The current directive form the Kennel Club is that from 1 January 2020 all applications for judging lists will be made direct to the Kennel Club and that all judges who wish to judge are members of the Kennel Club Academy.
